FM19 - Dorking - 20/21

Summary:

I applied for a vacancy at Dorking Wanderers - it's the nearest team to me that I've ever managed.

They had no backroom staff and only about 5 players.

After an appalling start to the season where we won only 2 of our first 21 games,

We picked up slightly and had a little run of wins towards the end to take it to the last day - to see if we would be relegated or not.  This last minute goal against us by Terence Anderson meant that we would need to win rather just just draw on the last day, away to Oxford our relegation rivals.

Unfortunately, needing a win on the last day, we couldn't do it and we were relegated, possibly my worst ever season on Football Manager!

Player of the Season:

Matty Briggs, a goal scoring right winger. He was already at the club when I joined.

FM19 - WSM - 2019/20

In my second season with Weston we did make the play-offs. But unfortunately, entered in on an obscene run of form, which carried into the first play-off game which we lost again.

My player of the season was probably the goalkeeper, Luke Purnell. But the RB was also good. Swallow was good, but not as emphatic as the previous season.

Possibly because of my frustration at finishing the season with those straight defeats... but also because it's a far more local club to me now, I applied and accepted the job at newly promoted Dorking Wanderers - which looks like it's going to be an ever bigger battle!

FM19 -WSM - 2018/19

Going into the last day of the regular season, in my first season as manager of Weston-Super-Mare we were in pole position to get a playoff spot. Win at home or better one other teams result and we were into the playoffs.

Unfortunately, we lost 2-3, after having led twice, and missed out on the playoffs.

Ben Swallow was my player of year.
